About Yoga Mamas:
Established in 2012, Yoga Mamas is Toronto’s leading maternal wellness centre providing wellness treatments and services from fertility to family. The clinic boasts 5000 square feet of sunlit space with 8 treatment rooms and two large movement studios. Though our name includes the word yoga – fitness is just one important piece of our multifaceted wellness business.
Over 30 healthcare practitioners, alongside a team of educators and fitness instructors, provide maternal health and lifestyle wellness services on site and by video consultation for expecting mamas and their families. Our team of specialized staff see clients physically and virtually from our beautiful east end Toronto clinic.

About The Assistant Manager Role:
The Assistant Manager position reports to the General Manager and assists the GM with the day-to-day operations of the clinic, as well as supports operations across all business divisions including movement, education, professional training, doula care and retail. The assistant manager has years of demonstrated experience in direct client-facing care, and a personal commitment to service excellence. As one of our team leaders, the assistant manager models, inspires and mentors superior customer service best practices for all team members. In their day-to-day management, they demonstrate that fairness is a tenet of authority – they would do any task they ask of another, expectations go both ways.

The assistant manager absolutely loves organization and efficiency. They place incredible value on time, and hold the management of time as a strong priority through organization, efficient systems and crystal clear communication, and overall excellent time management skills.

The assistant manager operates primarily as a part of the front desk team and has the ability to manage oneself independently.


  • Responsible for supporting the management of the day-to-day operations of our 5000 square foot facility
  • Supports the General Manager in all aspects of the business and steps into that role in their absence.
  • Leads the client care team to ensure 100% client satisfaction, and quality standards, ensure colleagues understand key drivers of guest satisfaction, manages any client care escalations, and involves the team to develop new initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Uses client satisfaction tool LISTEN360 to identify trends and causes, devise and implement long-term operational and customer service plans to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Builds relationships with clients while working on the front desk and utilizes feedback to improve service, processes, and standards.
  • Participates in recruitment, interviewing, training, and providing performance feedback if required.
  • Manages front desk team scheduling balancing long term needs of the team and the business with the ability to make wise short term solutions for immediate/spontaneous scheduling changes
  • Ensures that Yoga Mamas health and safety programs are strictly implemented, including employee safety processes, clinic cleanliness guidelines, evolving COVID-19 protocols and monthly health and safety audits.
  • Evaluates standards of cleanliness, maintenance and presentation plus safety of all wellness treatment rooms, staff areas and public areas of the clinic through inspections and ensures areas of deficiency are resolved.
  • Facilitating sales and driving revenue by educating our clients on the variety of wellness, movement and educational services we offer. Working with management to design and execute new sales and marketing strategies.
  • The assistant manager works directly alongside our client care associates supporting and executing the associated responsibilities of the front desk including greeting clients, answering multi-line phones, managing email, booking in-clinic appointments and other programming reservations.
  • This is a salaried position – required to work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Occasionally flexibility is required to meet needs of team and/or business (sometimes outside of scheduled work hours).

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years client-facing customer service {preferably hospitality or retail}
  • Minimum 2-3 years managing people {in mgmt or supervisor role}
  • Excellent with numbers and excel sheets
  • High functioning communication: clear, transparent, direct/candid, open/honest, high emotional intelligence
  • Team player – demonstrates equitable team dynamic and strong work ethic on a daily basis
