Make a Difference

Reporting to the Senior Advisor in the Office of the Commissioner of Housing Equity (the “OCHE”), the Reporting Assistant will provide a range of services and supports to the Senior Advisor and the OCHE, including auditing the application by staff of internal TCHC policies and procedures, strategic planning, policy management, stakeholder relations, performance measurement, researching and writing to support the OCHE, and event planning and management support. This position also requires discretion in the handling of confidential and sensitive information.

What You’ll Do

Gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources to support audits overseen by the Senior Advisor, monthly and quarterly reporting by the OCHE, strategic planning, development and management of policy and protocols, and stakeholder relations.
Prepare updates, presentations, briefing notes and reports as required.
Monitor municipal council and committees and provides information alerts for the OCHE regarding relevant agenda items, reports and decisions and their implications.
Monitor provincial and federal legislative and regulatory activity and provides information alerts for the OCHE regarding relevant developments.
Support the planning and implementation of various projects including training, events and meetings to promote OCHE initiatives and stakeholder relations.
Assist in tracking the OCHE’s work plan and manages deadlines and materials for Board and Committee reporting.
Provide administrative support for the OCHE, as assigned (e.g. reviewing and editing draft decisions of the Commissioner, note taking, filing, maintaining databases, etc.)
Respond to requests and provides support to the OCHE related to EasyTrac, HMS and other internal systems.
Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need

Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Social Welfare Policy or other relevant field.
Job related experience (work or co-op) in one or more of the following areas: policy analysis or development, performance measurement systems, internal controls, creation and monitoring of accountability systems.
Proven ability to research, analyze and evaluate information from multiple sources and prepare reports and statements.
Proven ability to interact effectively with and engage a variety of stakeholders including: staff, tenants, business partners and community groups.
Excellent project management, conflict resolution and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience using software programs such as Microsoft Office.
Strong database management skills and proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to exercise sound judgment/integrity/discretion/political acuity and remain independent and impartial.
