    • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, Safety and Health, Biological or Physical Science, engineering, or equivalent fields
    • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Health Physics
    • Knowledge of Environmental Dispersion Modelling
    • Knowledge and understanding of radiation protection philosophies, procedures, equipment and techniques used both in theory and practice
    • In depth understanding of the nuclear regulatory process related to facility design
    • Knowledge of applicable legislation, codes, standards and guides to Radiation Protection design activities (e.g. SOR/2000-203, CNSC REGDOC-2.5.2, CNSC G-129, CSA N288.1)
    • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
    • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
      • Development of radiation and environmental plans, programs, and procedures to protect the radiological health and safety of workers and members of the public
      • Characterization of species of contamination hazards during the life cycle of the plant based on analyzed and/or postulated scenarios
      • Support plant radiological zoning interfacing with Plant Layout team
      • Develop radiation survey and monitoring programs following As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA)
      • Develop/review radiological surveillance equipment monitoring procedures
      • Review and approval of the selection and procurement of radiation and contamination measuring and monitoring equipment
      • Support shielding analyses
      • Contribute to Safeguards and Nuclear Material Accountancy
      • Contribute to IMSR® systems design requirements and collaborate with design team
      • Contribute to radioactive material handling design
      • Interface with Safety and Licensing teams

        • have skillset and experience that relate to the following role:Develop licensing documentation in support of Radiation ProtectionSkilled at developing and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with external customers and vendorsTerrestrial Energy is a developer of Generation IV advanced nuclear power plants that use its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) technology. IMSR® technology represents true innovation in cost reduction, versatility and functionality of nuclear power plants. IMSR® power plants will provide zero-carbon, reliable, dispatchable, cost-competitive electric power and high-grade industrial heat for use in many industrial applications, such as chemical synthesis and desalination, and in so doing extend the application of nuclear energy far beyond electric power markets. We have the potential to make important contributions to industrial competitiveness, energy security, and economic growth. Our deployment will support rapid global decarbonization of the primary energy system by displacing fossil fuel combustion across a broad spectrum. Using an innovative design, and proven and demonstrated molten salt reactor technology, we are engaged with regulators and industrial partners to complete IMSR® engineering and to commission first IMSR® power plants in the late 2020s.         Job Duties

        The Health Physicist, under the direction of the Systems Engineering Director, is primarily responsible for radiation protection program management. Other responsibilities include:
