Position DescriptionA co-op term with Solidigm’s NAND Product Solutions Group is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high-performance SSD projects.
The firmware engineer position(s) for this listing is as follows:
Does the idea of writing high performance firmware and tests for next generation SSDs appeal to you? Build the foundation for an exciting embedded software career with one of the most advanced electrical engineering companies in the world! Learn advanced techniques from industry experts that solve SSD performance and feature challenges, in areas such as hardware/software interfaces and media algorithms. Work alongside local and remote team members in a collaborative environment as you participate in the road to productization.
Employees are encouraged to work remotely due to Covid-19, all new hire orientations will be done virtually. This is subject to change and employees deemed as essential workers may be required to work on-site.
QualificationsWe are looking for enthusiastic students with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem solving ability, a desire to learn and a good general knowledge of embedded systems, digital design, software/firmware development and testing methodology. Qualifications in the following areas are desired:
General knowledge of embedded systems
Strong debugging skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with project-based teamwork
Experience with software development in RTOS environment
Experience with multi-threaded software development
Job assignments will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student. We encourage both undergraduate and graduate candidates to apply.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.
