  • Shangri-La hotel, Toronto

    Assist the Director of Housekeeping in directing and maintaining the Housekeeping Department in accordance with the policies, standards and guidelines established by Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and the hotel. With high integrity, ensure a 5 diamond/5 star experience to guests and lead Colleagues in providing Shangri-La hospitality from a caring family.

    Areas of Responsibility:
    Labour management
    Training implementation
    Guest floor & guest corridor facility management
    Quality improvement

    People Management:
    Labour Management
    Prepare Duty Roster and Daily Assignment Sheet for Director of Housekeeping review in accordance with Labour Standard and business volume
    Review and revise manning needs daily
    Prepare and submit Colleague Action Forms for submission
    Manage ADP ezLabour
    Input Duty Roster in Heath Labour Management
    Spearhead and assist with colleague activities to enhance team morale
    Assist in implementation of monthly training topics
    Departmental colleague induction
    Support Performance Development Review and colleague performance activities

    Product Management:
    Organize ordering of in-room florals
    Monitor guest floor defects and co-ordinate repairs with Engineering and Front Office teams
    Key driver of Quality Improvement Program (QIP)
    Assist Director of Housekeeping in implementation of Perfect Room Program (PRP) and Preventative Maintenance Program

    Task Specific Competencies:
    Follow-up on training in relation to QIP and defect feedback
    Driver of Monthly Training Plan with assistance of Lead Room Attendant Team
    Oversee Lost & Found with assistance of Service Leader – Housekeeping
    Assist in ongoing special project and deep cleaning tasks
    Assist Director of Housekeeping in other tasks as and when required

    Other Requirements:
    Minimum 3-5 years previous work experience in a similar capacity within an international world-class hotel brand.
    Previous Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts experience or comparable with a key competitor, preferred.
    Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management.
    Required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
