Loyalist College is Ontario’s Destination College – empowering students, faculty, staff, and partners
through experiential, industry focused, cluster-based education, training, and applied research programs.
Located on more than 200 acres in the beautiful Bay of Quinte region, the College is perfectly positioned
between Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. Loyalist College is a close-knit community where students and
their success come first. Loyalist provides personalized attention in small classes, rewarding field
placements, and superior student services. Its Belleville, Bancroft, and Toronto campuses and Port Hope
satellite location support programs and services for more than 6,000 full-time and 8,000 part-time
students each year.


Reporting to the Director of Employment Ontario Programs, the incumbent serves as a first point of
contact, delivering resource and information services to the public. The individual works closely with in-
house Employment Consultants delivering Employment Ontario funded services to Belleville and
surrounding areas. The Resource Centre Attendant assists job seekers in accessing information on labor
markets, careers and occupations, training, employment opportunities and job search strategies,
including resumes and cover letters.


  • Acts as first point of contact for incoming clients, providing exceptional customer service
  • Screens incoming applicants to the Employment Services programs to determine initial client

need and refers to appropriate internal and external programs and resources

  • Assesses client needs and assists in all aspects of job search including the preparation of

resumes and cover letters, the completion of application forms and interview preparation

  • Researches, compiles and organizes relevant; labour market, education, training and community

resources information

  • Responds to in-person, telephone and electronic requests for program information and services
  • Compiles, posts and maintains up-to-date job leads and assists clients to respond to appropriate

  • Delivers program information and job search assistance to individuals and groups both on and off


  • Collaborates with other members of the Community Employment Services team to promote

employment in the community and provides a seamless continuum of employment services

  • Responds to service and information requests via telephone, in-person and e-mail


  • Completion of a two (2) year diploma in a related field (i.e. Business Administration, Career and

Work Counsellor or Social Service Worker) from a recognized post-secondary program

  • A minimum of at least one (1) year of relevant experience providing services to a diverse client

groups, developing job search-related paperwork and compiling and disseminating labour market

  • Computer literacy in programs including MS Office Suite, the internet and e-mail with an

understanding of how to use technology and social media to provide outreach to clients and

  • Familiarity with a wide range of community, employment and social service-related resources
  • Excellent customer service skills along with effective organizational, research and administrative


  • An ability to apply an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the needs of a diverse

client population
