Hiring Immediately:
Company Info: A global leader in formulating, producing, contract packaging and wholesale distribution of household and transportation fluids
Position: Health and safety coordinator
Location: Milton (Hwy 401 & James Snow Parkway)
Shift: Days (Monday – Friday)
Rate of Pay: $60,000.00 per year
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Studies or related degree or equivalent training and experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in HSE within a manufacturing environment
- Thorough knowledge of Health Safety and Environment requirements in Alberta
- Capable of handling different files at the same time and prioritizing his or her work while summarizing issues and focusing on the tasks
- You are a hands-on type of person with excellent interpersonal skills and are people-oriented to drill down on injury/spills root cause and preventive action plans
Requirements:
- Manage and maintain, Health, Safety and Environmental standards in the facility and conduct audit to ensure Alberta OHS standards are met.
- Ensure all staff are trained and aware of Health and Safety procedures, through annual training and weekly safety talks.
- Participate in the establishment of existing / new processes, equipment, facility layouts by providing hazard assessments and acting upon safety hazard assessments
- Providing safety and environmental deliverables for existing and new equipment; new and modified production processes; and providing support facility expansions
- Support and implement actions to meet compliance to Alberta environmental standards
- Conduct and follow up on required safety audits both internally and externally.
- Review and evaluate accidents and identify solutions to any potential negative trends.
- Maintain all records and reporting for compliance with the Nisku site for Alberta Operating Approval.
- Capable of traveling to Port Coquitlam on a quarterly basis
- Support Company management in setting HSE objectives
- Serve as HSE subject matter expert and provide information to management about HSE related performance, issues and status of the HSE management system in regards to effectiveness and compliance.
- Manages and reviews work site hazard assessments, identifies unsafe acts/conditions or unsafe behaviors, provides support, guidance and recommendations for corrective action to management team.
- Participate in all site safety committees and analyze all job hazard activities and ensure compliance to all safety guidelines and perform audit on all activities
- Positive work ethic
- Clean criminal background
- Must have reliable transportation with flexibility to work varying shifts as needed ( overtime/rotating)
