        You are responsible for

         

        The Accounting Controller role is co-responsible with the Business Partner for the Quality/Integrity of the ORU’s internal and external Financial Reporting. Responsible for translating complex business events into accurate and complete accounting transactions. Safeguard the accounting process and take corrective actions when required.

         

        To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

         

        Quality of the R2R accounting processes

        • Responsible for accounting integrity with BP to ensure business events and transactions are properly recorded and justified
        • Accountable for the quality of the accounting (RTR) processes.
        • Creates visibility to accounting issues, escalating when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
        • Owns and executes the Monthly review meetings (Pre-MEC and Trial Statement Review).
        • Executes Quarterly review of the high-risk Balance sheet accounts and Yearly review of the full Balance sheet (GBSR).
        • Guides and sets the priorities of Market Facing Accounting Specialists in the RTR organization in co-alignment with the team-lead of the Accounting Specialists (RTR).
        • Collaborates with Global Hub and monitoring performance
        • Drives and oversees improvement projects related to accounting processes.
        • Partners with peers and Global Hub to assist in driving standardization, simplification and operational excellence in RTR.
        • Oversees the performance in the other AccOps domains (C&C, PTP, S&F, Indirect Tax), to timely and pro-actively identify any process or performance issues in these domains and assess the impact/ risk for accounting integrity.

         

        Judgmental accounting

        • Involved in business decisions to achieve the correct accounting outcomes
        • Determines accounting treatment for events and transactions of a complex, unique, and/or judgmental accounting nature.
        • Applies new/revised accounting policies in consultation with Technical Accounting and Oversight (TA&O).

         

        Internal controls

        • Signs off together with the BP and GM the Quarterly SOX internal control statement.
        • Execution and documentation of key, specific accounting internal controls
        • Overseeing the remaining framework in collaboration with NAM Internal Control
        • Participates and supports improvement projects related to Internal Controls together with other parties.

         

        Audits

        • Management of Financial Audit relationship, planning and Issue Resolution
        • Ensures appropriate communication to stakeholders on timelines, deliverables and outcomes.

         

        Skills & Capabilities:

        • Hands-on
        • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
        • Eager to learn the business and demonstrates strong business acumen
        • Tolerance of ambiguity and an ability to shape deliverables with minimum guidance
        • Ability to present data in a comprehensive and articulate manner
        • Attention to detail

        • Plans effectively and delivers timely
        • 5+ Years relevant industry experience with progressive accounting experience
