DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Director of ITS and the Manager, Infrastructure, Client and Digital Pedagogy Support, the Helpdesk Technician will be a primary contact for faculty, staff, and students seeking technical assistance. Working on-site and remotely the Helpdesk Technician is responsible for delivering excellent client support services via phone, email, in-person at the ITS helpdesk, in classrooms, in offices, and in residences.

The Helpdesk Technician will:

-Work with the Client Support and Helpdesk Supervisor to manage incoming support requests

-Work with the Systems Administrator and Systems Analyst to escalate issues relating to system-level matters

-Configure and repair computer workstations and/or mobile devices for faculty, staff, and students.

-Configure and repair printers, scanners, and other connected devices

-Assist in client access for web, email, and other software applications

-Assisting clients with password, multifactor authentication, and other related troubleshooting

-Assisting clients with network access (both wired and wireless)

-Assisting clients with access to educational resources including the campus learning management system

-Be available to work weekday days, weekday evenings, and weekends as scheduled

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The incumbent will:

-Have a College Diploma or a University Degree

-Bring at least 2 years of previous relevant experience

-Have experience in a customer service setting

-Be familiar and proficient with a wide variety of applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, FTP programs, and mobile applications

-Be familiar and proficient with a wide variety of operating systems including Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS

TYPE OF JOB:

Full Time Contract (40 hours per week) – until April 30, 2022

EFFECTIVE DATE: January 2021

SALARY RANGE: $24.33 per hour (SSG40–6, Level 1)
