Open communication and your ability to represent our company in a courteous and professional way and maintain good relations is critical.About the Position:The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:

      • Supporting and abiding by the company’s Mission, Values and Purpose and instilling these qualities in all employees at the station;
      • Promoting and adhering to our safety and respectful workplace culture and instilling this culture in the station employees while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance with all Government Labour, Health and Safety laws, regulations and policies;
      • Assign duties and monitor performance of Equipment Operators to ensure work is completed according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s);
      • Plan and carry out work assignments and handle problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training or accepted company practices and procedures;
      • Ensure full communication with next shift regarding current state of equipment;
      • Ensure all reporting; record keeping and communications are complete, accurate and timely as per company policies;
      • Professionally operate, maintain and instruct operators on using all Recovery Equipment, operational procedures and valve management;
      • Inform the Airside Supervisor immediately of any deficiencies in operation, daily vehicle inspections and daily paperwork submitted by all operators;
      • Ensure all operators perform daily Recovery Equipment walk-arounds before operation;
      • Perform, and instruct operators with storm preparedness operations, (i.e., drain insert inflation and drain valve closure, etc.);
      • Routinely inspect de-icing surfaces while on shift, and promptly collect or dispatch the appropriate number of operators to collect spent aircraft de-icing fluid (ADF) well before the risk of fluid escape;
      • Be alert and aware of other apron traffic, and to only begin vacuuming when it can be done safely without interfering with aircraft movement. AIRCRACT ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY;
      • Empty the debris tank into Inlands storage vessels well before the risk of overfill;
      • Oversee the daily tracking and recording of fluids collected;
      • Emulsify the de-icing surfaces as directed by the Airside Supervisor;
      • Perform/complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required and/or by management request.

       


      Please Note:
       This position requires a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC), Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) and a ROC-A (Radio Operator Certificate-Aeronautical) license.

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or equivalent;
      • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets Company insurance standards;
      • 2 years related work experience in the field of aircraft and/or operations;
      • Previous supervisory and/or management experience considered an asset;
      • Previous de-icing/anti-icing experience considered an asset;
      • Successful completion of all classroom and on-the-job training;
      • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays for the duration of the de-icing season (October 1st to May 31st);
      • Must be comfortable working outside on the pad in all types of weather conditions (SNOW, RAIN, WIND, and whatever else Mother Nature deems necessary for the season);
      • Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
      • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
      • Proven success delivering results in a fast-paced, multi-deadline, high-stress environment;
      • Willing to learn new skills and adapt to change in order to support the growth of the company and meet needs of customers.
