Our Merchandising team is responsible for connecting our quality products and services with our customers. The team uses planning frameworks and tools to provide recommendations that will ensure financial results, and provide decisions on key inputs such as point of sales forecasts.

What you’ll do:

As a Forecasting Analyst, you will create and manage operational SKU level Sales and Dealer Demand forecasts for all the products in a specific Category within Canadian Tire’s assortment. These forecasts will consider regular sales, promotional activities as well as any Seasonal or Dealer ordering patterns. You will actively manage your forecasts at aggregate levels in accordance with financial targets.

To create item level forecasts, you will leverage historical data, product knowledge, market and competitive trends which support the achievement of our Sales, Inventory and Shipment plans. Your forecasts will drive downstream Replenishment activity. Success will be measured by continuous improvement in the reduction of Forecast Error, Forecast Bias and improvement in Store Service Levels. You’ll work closely with your fellow Category team members including Category Business Managers (CBMs), Category Business Planners, the Marketing Promotional Planners, Replenishment Analysts, Forecasting Support Analyst, and your Forecasting Manager.

What you’ve done:

  • University degree, preferably in Engineering, Math, Business or Commerce
  • Experience using analytics to turn data into recommendations and actionable insights
  • Demonstrated influencing and relationship building skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Forecasting or Data Modeling an asset
